About Us
The Macau Government Tourist Office referred to as MGTO, is a service charged with pursuing the overall goals defined for the Territory's tourism Sector.
A Director who is assisted by two Deputy Directors leads the MGTO. In the chase of its duties, MGTO has 5 sub-divisions. They are: Licensing and Inspections Department; Promotion & Marketing Department; Product Development & Special Projects Department; Research and Planning Department and Administrative and Finance Division.
MGTO also has under its auspices the Tourism Activities Center abbreviated to CAT, which is equivalent to a division. CAT is responsible for promoting and supporting meetings, exhibition festivals and other events of tourist interest.
Within the scope of the MGTO, there is a Tourism Fund that is regulated by separate legislation. Under the Administrative and Finance Division, there is a Tourism Fund Support Sector, which is responsible for preparing the proposal for the Tourism Fund's independent budget and producing the accounts for the Tourism Fund.
Macau is a unique destination or that preserves a multi-cultural heritage alongside state-of the art tourist facilities and a full calendar of festivals, sports competitions and special events all year around.
To have a good link with the world in promoting Macau's tourism, MGTO has set up 17 marketing or public relations representatives all around the globe, including Mainland China; Hong Kong; Taiwan, China; Japan; South Korea; Malaysia; Philippines; Singapore; Thailand; India; Australia; New Zealand; United States; Belgium; Germany; Portugal and France.
